Juleevangeliet

THE CHRISTMAS GOSPEL – YOUR PLACE IN THE UNIVERSE What is the Christmas Gospel really about? Most people know the story of Mary, Joseph, the baby in the manger, the angels in the field and the shepherds who heard the message of a savior. But what if this well-known Christmas story is part of a much larger story – a story that begins before the foundation of the world was laid? In “The Christmas Gospel – Your Place in the Universe”, the audience is invited into the Bible’s great story of creation, fall, hope and restoration. The performance lifts the Christmas Gospel out of the familiar Christmas image and places it in a larger context: the struggle between good and evil, man’s place in the world, and the question of whether we all have a role in a larger drama than we usually see. With Heidrun Sangvik as an actor and Rolf Magne Asser as a singer and musician, monologue theatre, storytelling and music are intertwined into a warm, strong and thought-provoking Christmas performance. The audience will hear excerpts from well-known and beloved Christmas carols, some lesser-known songs – and a brand new Christmas carol written especially for the performance. The performance is based on the rich tradition of the Bible and the significance this story has had for Norwegian culture, language and history for more than a thousand years. At the same time, it asks questions that are still very relevant: What is good? What is evil? And can I make a difference in the great story? This is not just a performance about Christmas as we often know it. It is a journey from eternity to the present, from heaven to earth, from the great cosmic lines to the personal question: What is my place in the universe? The audience has previously described the performance as: “Unbelievable! This different Christmas performance must be experienced. Communication at a high level. Brilliantly performed.” “Absolutely fantastic performance. Of the highest quality, enormous communication of a strong message.” “A fantastically rich performance with fantastic empathy. Truly deserves a large audience.” “The Christmas Gospel – Your Place in the Universe” is suitable for anyone who wants a different, beautiful and eventful pre-Christmas experience – with room for wonder, music, faith, cultural history and reflection.” Buy your ticket now and be ready for an evening filled with entertainment, reflection, inspiration and reflection.
