About place:
Everyone from Ilulissat has probably been there. For me, the place is very meaningful, partly
because there is an umiak (women’s boat) outside that my grandmother helped to build. When I
worked in tourism, I visited the place often, sometimes with guests and other times to update my
knowledge. It is an important house, which is unfortunately sinking due to permafrost thaw. The
building is leaning, and the small house next to it is completely tilted. When you go inside, you
can clearly feel that the floor slopes.
