About event:

Snøfall is a warm, adventurous and emotional theatre performance based on NRK's popular Christmas calendar of the same name. The performance combines classic Christmas fairy tales with modern theatre magic and creates an experience that touches both children and adults. Many people know the story from the TV screen. Now the audience gets to meet Selma, Ruth, Julius, Pil, Winther and all the other characters when the young people of Arendal Children's and Youth Theatre bring the magical tale to life on stage. The story follows Selma, an orphan girl who lives with the strict and unloving Ruth. She longs for security, care and a place where she truly belongs. Even though she often feels alone and different, she holds on to the hope that something good will happen. Just before Christmas, she writes a letter to Santa Claus with one big wish: to have a family. The letter mysteriously ends up in Snøfall – a hidden world where the elves live their lives surrounded by magic, traditions and secrets. The performance alternates between the real world and Snowfall, showing how both worlds contain challenges, loss and uncertainty – but also warmth, community and love. The audience gets to experience well-known songs, strong characters and an atmospheric Christmas world that creates a real Christmas atmosphere. Snowfall is about loss and loneliness, but also about friendship, courage and the importance of being seen and loved for who you are. It is a story about how hope can grow even in dark times, and how love and community can change people. With warmth, humour and magic, the performance reminds us of some of the most important things in life: to belong, to be appreciated, and to find one's own home – whether in a magical world or with the people around us. Suitable for children aged 4 and up.
