About event:

LEVI HENRIKSEN – back to Bokbyen! Finally Levi Henriksen is coming back to Tvedestrand – and this time he has a new book, a new album and a full band! On Saturday, November 7th, you can meet the storyteller from Kongsvinger – first for a conversation about the new short story collection "Postcards from Waterloo", which will be launched on October 9th, 2026, and then for a concert with the band Babylon Badlands - at the Town Hall in Tvedestrand, formerly Kulturklubben Scene. 7:00 PM – Bookbath with Levi Henriksen and the short story collection Postcards from Waterloo “In Levi Henriksen’s new short stories, the world trembles with warnings of breakups. The short stories in Postcards from Waterloo move away from Skogli and the recognizable Henriksen landscape, and out into new cities, new spaces, new encounters. Each short story bears the title of a famous person, real or fictional. This creates a kind of literary concept album, where the names create connections and give the collection a unique whole. As always, Henriksen writes with warmth for the vulnerable human being, with an eye for men and women in the in-between stages of life, and with a musicality that makes each text its own little song. With this collection, he confirms his position as one of the foremost portrayers of longing, loss and hope in modern Norwegian literature” (Gyldendal, 2026). 8:00 PM – Concert with Levi Henriksen & Babylon Badlands Levi Henriksen is not only an author, but also a musician and songwriter. With the album "Sverige" (2026), Levi Henriksen & Babylon Badlands have released their sixth album, and since its release, the band has played six sold-out concerts in Eastern Norway, and the album has received very good reviews: Tor Hammerø in Nettavisen gave the album a six and wrote: "Levi Henriksen is simply a storyteller by God's grace - credible at a level that is sky-high above most in the profession." Espen Amundsen in Dagsavisen gave it a five and called it: "An impressively strong album from a man and a band that are speeding away in a Volvo Amazon on their way to the promised land." Rune Letrud in Musikbloggen writes: "Levi Henriksen & Babylon Badlands have (once again) released their best album. Sverige is a parade march of wonderful lyricism and unparalleled musicianship." The music has roots in both gospel and punk, but first and foremost it is about storytelling. The songs are short stories in themselves – short stories about people, places, memories, love and longing. Welcome to an evening with Levi Henriksen – AND Babylon Badlands!
