I have been reindeer hunting several times. We sail for about 10 hours from Ilulissat in our boat.
Last time, we caught 17 reindeer. I am together with my family, and we stay overnight for about
a week. We eat a lot of reindeer meat. When we return to Ilulissat, we prepare the meat - for
roasts, soups, and other dishes. I have learned from the elders how to butcher a reindeer. It is
important for me to have meat throughout the year. I have also brought home a head with
antlers as a keepsake.
