Join us as Brit Østerud dives into Christmas traditions while we take in the smell of fir, cinnamon and incense!
We decorate for Christmas with a Christmas tree and flowers and it smells of different spices.
Which flowers and spices belong to Christmas and why these in particular?
Have flowers always been a given at Christmas and where do these customs come from?
And what about the spice, is it unique to Christmas?
These are traditions that we will dive into while we take in the smell of fir, cinnamon and incense.
Brit Østerud was previously the library manager in Grimstad for 16 years, but has also worked for 16 years at Kuben in Arendal where she worked a lot with Christmas traditions, among other things.
The event takes place in the information room at the Maritime Museum in Hasseldalen 3.
