It´s snowing on my piano 2026

Bugge Wesseltoft will return to Barbu Church on Tuesday, December 15, 2026 after an unforgettable concert in December 2025! Remember to buy tickets early; last year it sold out and several people turned away at the door. The album where Bugge Wesseltoft plays many of our most beautiful Christmas carols in his own unique way has captivated the entire country since it was released in 1997. Bugge Wesseltoft is one of Norway's absolute foremost jazz musicians and with this album has managed to create a close, naked and warm expression, where well-known and beloved Christmas carols are wrapped in jazz-characteristic improvisations. It sounds like snowflakes hitting the keys, and the strings are allowed to ring in peace. Bugge himself says this about how the now classic album came about: «"Snowing on my piano" was made from a desire for peace and quiet at Christmas, and a break from stress, gift hysteria and having to be so terribly happy all the time. As a young man, I worked in an emergency room at a psychiatric hospital and it was a shock for me to discover that Christmas is also a holiday for depression, loneliness and domestic violence. When a German record company asked me to make a solo piano album of Christmas carols, I had strong doubts but finally decided to record it on the condition that I could do it in my own way. Loving each other and having time for each other is the most important thing we can do at Christmas.” Welcome to a pre-Christmas concert you will never forget!
