About event:

The Sound of Yesterday – with Koralis, Arendal Big Band, musicians and dancers is being performed both at the Grimstad Cultural Center and in Arendal. It is with great pleasure that the choir Koralis from Grimstad, together with the Arendal Big Band (ABB), presents “The Sound Of Yesterday” with choirs, musicians and dancers from Allegro Ballettstudio! The Sound of Yesterday takes us through everything from energetic soul and pop classics to warm songs, strong ballads, gospel, country and atmospheric choral works. “The Sound of Yesterday” is in many ways a musical journey through time, and both old and young will hear songs that evoke memories. Bandmaster Johannes Groth, together with conductors Tore Bråthen (ABB) and Rolf Meyer Tallaksen (Koralis), will ensure an unforgettable musical experience. Tore Bråthen, Rolf Meyer Tallaksen and Markus Nyland Tallaksen have all done a great job arranging the music. Arendal Big Band is a versatile and well-playing big band with 21 experienced musicians. The band masters more than just classic big band jazz, and is perhaps especially known for its Theme/Tribute concerts. Such as Tribute to Elvis, Michael Jackson, Bob Dylan and many more. The band is led by Tore Bråthen. Koralis is an independent mixed choir from Grimstad with 45 singers, and has been behind several major concert projects in recent years. Among others, The Sound of Movies, The Sound of Christmas I and II, Mass for a Wounded Earth (with Ketil Bjørnstad), The Sound of Musicals and now The Sound of Yesterday. The choir is led by Rolf Meyer Tallaksen. Allegro Ballettstudio is an established ballet studio from Grimstad, and they offer dance lessons for children, youth and adults. Allegro has collaborated with Koralis on several performances in the past. This will be an evening of dance and music that awakens memories, emotions and energy!
