Learn about and honour Indigenous Veterans Day by making beaded poppies with Elizabeth George, a Nuu-chah-nulth artist from Ahousaht First Nation. Indigenous Veterans Day is observed each year on November 8th. Wearing a beaded poppy is a way to recognize the contributions made by Indigenous members of the military who served in the two world wars and the Korean War and the many who are still serving to this day.
